      My name is Fred Balke.

I completed 45 Lonnie deals over an 8 year period while working a very demanding full time management job for a multi-billion dollar company. In 2005, I left that JOB to become an entrepreneur and a mobile home park owner.

Today, I orchestrate and direct the day to day turn around of a half full 185 space mobile home park in Albany, GA.

The purpose of my blog is to help you gain insight into the challenges and opportunities one will deal with in the day-to-day operations and turn around of a mobile home park.

My name is Daphne Lowe.

What would you do if you never had to work again? In my mind's eye, I can still see Robin Leech's cacophonous incursions into the Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. My reality was a bit different. I wasn't rich, but I had achieved financial freedom: my passive income exceeded my living expenses. So I packed my bags and moved to a tropical island. I was livin lavita loca: Idling away time soaking in the warm sunny days, gentle ocean breezes, and laissez faire attitudes that the Florida Keys are famous for. Life was good.

In Chicago, my father and I specialized in buying homes in lower middle class neighborhoods, rehabbing them, and renting them to participants in the Section 8 program. Our guiding philosophy was decent housing for decent folks. The quality of our homes and responsive management style allowed us to have stringent tenant selection standards. The income from this portfolio of properties allowed us to be gainfully unemployed on Fantasy Island.

As the months passed, I became increasingly restless. What was I going to do for the next 30 years that I would have normally spent working? The landlord approach was not going to work in this location. Taxes were high and the rent levels wouldn't support the property valuations. The search for a new niche eventually led to exploring mobile home communities. The Atlanta conference would prove to be a pivotal turning point. I convinced my dad to leave paradise and temporarily relocate to Georgia, to assist me in this new venture. I was looking for a challenge......I found it, come join me along the way.
